Welcome to NIC Reads!

NIC Reads is North Island College’s college-wide book club, bringing together students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the joy of reading. Whether you read a chapter a week or finish a book in a weekend, NIC Reads is entirely self-paced. It's an invitation to discover stories from diverse perspectives and connect with fellow readers.

How It Works:

Read at Your Pace: Read whatever interests you, or pick from one of our categories and title lists.

Join the Conversation: Participate in informal online book chats and in-person "Read-Ins" throughout the year.

Borrow With Ease: Physical copies and eBooks are available at your campus library through the library catalogue.

Win Prizes for Reading: Log what you're reading to enter our monthly prize draws!

Take a break from your studies and workday! Each month, your campus library will host a NIC Read-In—a relaxed, welcoming space set aside just for you. Bring whatever you’re currently reading, enjoy some complimentary snacks, and connect with fellow readers from across the NIC community.

The Read-Ins will take place at the Campbell River, Comox Valley, and Port Alberni campus libraries on Oct. 19, Nov. 16, and Dec. 14 from 11:00 - 1:00. Drop-in anytime!
